These three boys have decided that they would like to raise enough money to build their own school in Nepal! They have already raised over £3,000, which is nearly half way, and have lots more fun ideas up their sleeve to reach their target including a dog show, a disco and a music concert.

Thank you to Marina, who decided that she would like to donate £20 after a school assembly on CAIRN.
£20 will help to send a child to school for 4 months equipped with all their school supplies.
Verity Carman and Beatrice Maher had a good old spring clean of their toys and books and then sold them on a street stall. They also made the most delicious chocolate brownies and cakes to entice passersby to stop.
Verity and Bea’s efforts helped to raise £47.75. This will help to buy 6 children all their stationery supplies for the year.
Jessica Lewis made some delicious fudge with her mum and then sold them to her friends and family.
Jessica’s fun making idea raised £30.60. This will help to buy 8 children their school uniforms of either skirt and blouse or shirt and trousers, for the school year.

Scarlet Fox decided that when her class gave her the collection money for her 6th birthday present, she would be very kind and give it to charity. Her charity at school was The CAIRN Trust and she gave her whole £120 to help children in Nepal.
That means that Scarlet has helped to send two children to school with all their uniform, books, bags and shoes for a year. Super Scarlet!
Seven year old Calypso Carter, decided that she would like to do something for charity at her grandparents garden open day. As her grandparents had so many pretty flowers, she picked and pressed the flowers from their garden. Calypso then turned them into stunning bookmarks that she sold for £1.00 each at the garden open day in aid of The CAIRN Trust. Her bookmarks were a roaring success.
Through her great efforts Calypso raised an amazing £25 to help children in Nepal. That means that Calypso has helped at least two children get food of rice and lentils for a month on the Emergency support programme. Creative Calypso!
We didn’t have many sunny days this summer but Beatrice Kennedy managed to make the most of one of those rare sunny days. Beatrice, aged 10 years, made her own special lemonade and set up a lemonade stall at the end of her street. She made a colourful poster which attracted local passers by. Her hard work on a hot sunny day raised an amazing £2.50. That means that Beatrice has helped to buy a child’s school bag as part of the CAIRN Educational Awards. Brilliant Beatrice!
One cold January morning, all the children from Thomas’s Clapham collected coins and ran a coin race. Just over 6,000 coins were stretched across the school playground with one cm/ml being the distance from London to Nepal. The children managed to raise a staggering £994.65.
Through their efforts, at least sixteen children could start going to school with their uniform, shoes, bags, books, pencils through the CAIRN Educational Awards. Clever Clapham!
Thanks to all of our young supporters who have raised money to help children in Nepal go to school and have food and a home.
