Three Young Boys on a Mission

Boys MissionLouis Elton, Olly Jenkins and Evan Langmuir, aged 12 years, have organised their own amazing fund-raising campaign in support of the CAIRN Trust. Their goal is to raise £7,000 in order to build the first CAIRN School in a new area of Nepal, the Masayandi region where the CAIRN Trust is expanding to.

The boys launched their campaign in early July with a 24 hour walk along the South Downs and up one of the highest and steepest cliff hill ranges in England; “ The Seven Sisters”.

3 Boys MissionThe boys had many highlights from the walk including swimming in Birling Gap, Seven Sisters, andalso the amazing feeling when they finally finished the walk.

As with many adventures, there were a few hairy moments!

Olly had a near escape when he was charged by a cow with horns whilst walking through a field!

Louis got covered in thorns when he slid down a hill in a bin liner!

Luckily Evan was saved and although the sleeping conditions were his least favourite part of the walk, he felt it was worth it because it “made me realize what the Nepalese children go through every day and their living conditions”.

Their walk has pushed them to nearly half way to reaching their fundraising target.

Over the next six months, the trio have a whole suite of other fund-raising activities that they will be organising. These include collecting foreign coins, recycling old mobile phones and DVD’s, a summer jazz concert, a dog show and an attic sale. They will finish their year with a disco and karaoke evening.
