Vision: To educate children in rural Nepal
Mission
The CAIRN Trust's mission is to develop and support sustainable rural village communities through
child education.
Core Projects
The CAIRN Trust develops educational infrastructures in rural communities through three core projects:
CAIRN Schools & Libraries: We construct schools, libraries and other educational building projects in partnership with village communities.
CAIRN Educational Awards: We provide the essential educational support for a child to go to school, including school fees, stationery, and uniforms.
CAIRN Communities: We identify and support children within our communities who require
additional assistance.
Brief History of The CAIRN Trust
The CAIRN Trust was launched by the four Principals of Thomas's London Day Schools in July 2007. The Thomas’s family connections with Nepal go back some 40 years to the time when David Thomas was an officer in the 2nd Gurkhas. It was through contact with the villages and families of these cheerful, strong and resilient, yet incredibly poor people that made David and Joanna determined to help. Thomas’s Schools has since built up a working relationship with six villages after financing the construction of schools in these villages. Click here to read more about our schools.
